Pollo Tropical “Curbside Showdown” is a comedy commercial directed and photographed by Sherman Johnson. Executive produced by Yiya Garcia and produced by Chad Tingle for Zipper Films, the campaign uses a lighthearted competitive premise to highlight Pollo Tropical’s curbside pickup service. The story follows two customers who arrive at a Pollo Tropical restaurant at the same time. One joins the drive-thru line while the other parks for curbside pickup. As they size each other up, a playful standoff develops, inspired by the tension and visual language of classic western showdowns. What begins as a simple race for food quickly becomes an exaggerated battle of pride, anticipation, and bragging rights. Blending character-driven comedy with cinematic storytelling, the spot uses expressive performances, visual humor, and escalating tension to transform an everyday restaurant experience into an entertaining narrative while showcasing the convenience of curbside ordering.
