Pollo Tropical “Always a Classic” is a lifestyle-driven brand anthem commercial directed by Sherman Johnson for Pollo Tropical and Macias Creative. Produced by Yiya Garcia and Chad Tingle for Zipper Films, the campaign was filmed throughout Miami, Florida and explores the idea that while trends come and go, some experiences never go out of style. Created to reinforce Pollo Tropical’s place within South Florida culture, the film follows a series of interconnected moments that feel both familiar and timeless. Friends gather around classic cars outside a Pollo Tropical restaurant, regulars catch up in a neighborhood barbershop, a father and daughter spend an afternoon fishing along Biscayne Bay, and groups of friends enjoy a night at the roller rink. Throughout the campaign, Pollo Tropical serves as a backdrop to the relationships, traditions, and rituals that connect generations across Miami. Shot on the ARRI Alexa Mini LF with vintage Leica R prime lenses, the visual approach blends handheld cinematography with Steadicam movement to create a nostalgic yet contemporary look. Warm natural light, South Florida locations, and an emphasis on authentic performances help ground the campaign in a distinctly Miami atmosphere while celebrating the enduring appeal of both the city and the Pollo Tropical brand.
